    All pedestrian access to businesses is delineated and maintained. Signs stating businesses open will be going out today near the intersection of Kincaid Avenue and Main Street.

    Parking Update for the Town Center Utility Woonerf Project

    In the public parking lot on the south side of Main between Kincaid & Alder, we’re going to have to close all the stalls on the south side of the lot (yellow). We realize parking is already tight with the loss of Kincaid and were hoping to keep half of these stalls open, the portion to the right. However, the alley/drive to the south of this area is private property without a public easement, and we were unable to secure access from the owner to route vehicles through there. All cars using the public lot will have to park on the north side only (green) and use the former south stalls to exit safely onto Alder Avenue. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    The Contractor’s current schedule for the Town Center: Utility & Woonerf project shows the following locations and approximate durations of work:

    In construction, schedules are rarely exact and will shift and adjust as the construction progresses – but this is where we are starting from and we will continue to update this as we proceed through this exciting project.

  • Notice to Proceed

    The City issued Notice to Proceed (NTP) to the Contractor, Reed Trucking & Excavating, to begin construction on Monday, August 8th. The Contractor is starting work on Kincaid Avenue between Main Street and Maple Street. Pedestrian access to the businesses will be maintained, but the roadway will be closed to vehicles (including parking). The Contractor's first activities in August will be to set up traffic control and erosion control, clearing and grubbing, and demolition of the existing roadway to begin installation of the new storm drainage pipes and catch basins on the east side of Kincaid Avenue.

    The plan below shows all of the work that needs to be done in this one little block on Kincaid Avenue.

  • Moving towards construction

    This project has been awarded to Reed Excavating & Trucking to construct. The Pre-Construction meeting was held on 7/19/22 and construction is expected to start in early August.
