The City of Sumner will hold a public comment period from October 1st, 2019 to October 31st, 2019 regarding the flood inundation extent impacts memorandum for the Stewart Road Bridge Replacement Project. An open house meeting is scheduled to be held on October 15th at Sumner City Hall at the address below from 5pm to 7pm to discuss the memorandum, among other topics.

Any persons desiring to submit written comments concerning this project may submit written comments or requests to the City of Sumner, 1104 Maple Street, Sumner, WA 98390 ATTN: Michael Kosa. More Info: (253)299-5709.

The project will replace the existing 2-lane bridge with a new bridge accommodating 4 vehicle lanes, a sidewalk, and a trail. The new bridge will alleviate the current bottleneck in the corridor to allow better traffic flow and connect to existing pedestrian facilities. The new bridge is not expected to have significant environmental impacts related to sediment transport or projected floodplain extents.

The City of Sumner hereby gives public notice that it is the City’s policy to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and related statutes and regulations in all programs and activities. Any such complaint must be in writing and filed with the City of Sumner within one hundred eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged discriminatory occurrence.

Any citizen or group that feels they have been the victim of discriminatory treatment in violation of this policy should report this concern to Michael Kosa, Associate City Engineer, 1104 Maple Street, Sumner, WA 98390, or (253) 299-5709.
